A remedy that always works in all patients is the inhalation of the medicated oil anu taila. The patient should take it in a dose of 20 nose drops per nostril and inhale deeply. The deep inhalation may cause the absorption of some parts of it in the stomach through the throat which is not an issue as it has no toxicity. A slight irritation of the nose mucosae may occur causing sneezing. If one inhales the oil correctly, it unblocks the passage way to the frontal nasal cavity eliminating heaviness and mental discomfort. Generally one should perform these inhalations once only. However, if the condition is chronic the patient can repeat this treatment two or three times a day. Another recommended treatment is Lakshmi vilasa rasa. One should take this medicine in two or three tablets a day mixed with honey.

In individuals with pitta constitution, we suggest suvarna sutashekhara as remedy.

If the individual has a vata constitution the suggested remedy is that of taking godanti powder with shringa powder in equal proportions of 0.125 grams each three times a day with honey.

Ayurvedic Diet and Tips

In conclusion milk, sweet ailments and ghee are the best suggestion for the patient. Rice and vegetable soups are also a reccommandation. One should avoid fried and spicy food. The patient should also avoid exposing himself to excessive heat, excessive cold or rain.

Mental effort and stress are important factors in headaches. The patient should be free from emotional stressors like anxiety, anger and preoccupations.
