Understanding The Interaction between Matter and Conscience in Ayurveda.

These teachings ring very familiar to modern physicists. At quantum level, energy and matter behave as very much the same thing.

Matter and conscience in Ayurveda are intimately linked. According to Ayurvedic teachings energy manifests itself in 5 basic elements; ether, air, fire, water and earth. The five basic elements exist in all matter and are present in every substance at the same time. Also according to this vision given to the Rishis, all energy and matter are in fact the same thing. These teachings ring very familiar to modern physicists. At quantum level energy and matter behave as very much the same thing.

The five elements also manifest in the functioning of the five senses of human beings.

Man is a micro-cosm of nature so all five elements are also present in any individual. The five elements also manifest in the functioning of the five senses of human beings. They are in fact in direct relation with man’s ability to perceive the external environment he is living in. Therefore there is a respective link between hearing, tact, sight, taste and smell and the fundamental elements – ether, air, fire, water and earth.  Ayurveda aims at establishing a perfect harmonious relation with his conscience through his body.
